Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice

Sidebar art by Krista

I'm Chelsea, I'm twenty-one, a media studies and computer science major and an aspiring author. This blog is for things I think are cool and, occasionally, things I write. At the moment, I love all things Sherlock Holmes, and also enjoy Doctor Who, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones, The Avengers, and a whole lot of other things, including cute animals. I'm also working on getting fit. If you want to drop a note and say hi, feel free!

GPOY!  Thank you so much to all the wonderful photographers who kindly posted photos on tumblr — I don’t have any of my own costume, so I cobbled together from everyone else’s!  (I linked them in one big post so I wouldn’t clog my followers’ dashes with reblogs.  Please let me know if you’d like your photo taken down.)  YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME.  So, this is my Sebastian Moran cosplay at Otakon 2012 — I had a great time, and everyone was hilarious and amazing!

Oh my god, you were so flawless and look fantastic in these photos.  It was lovely meeting you!

Part 1

Me (makokitten) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman (The Dark Knight Rises version) at Otakon 2012.

You can see that the catsuit was sort of falling apart in the bottom one, but I like my face so I’m not that bothered.  At least now you know for sure that these images aren’t photoshopped!

I’m well aware that the costume isn’t completely accurate, but I feel pretty good about how it turned out considering that I threw it together in three days after seeing TDKR. Most importantly, I love the way I look here, which is probably more of a credit to the skill of my awesome photographer than anything else. c:

Otakon 2012.

This is just a sneak peek.  More to come tomorrow!  Watch this space.

Other cosplays that were cute: Alice and the Will of the Abyss from Pandora Hearts, and Tiana from the Princess and the Frog.

Snagged a quick pic of this pretty Lady Loki in the Artist Alley.

Superwholock meetup!

Top: the whole cast. Middle left: John, Sherlock, and Jennifer Wilson. Middle right: Sebastian Moran and me as Irene. Bottom: All the Sherlock ladies, put your hands up! All photos courtesy of a friend.

Met some awesome people, and will definitely be crashing tomorrow’s Sherlock shoot (probably still dressed as Selina Kyle).

It turns out Irene Adler is a feasible closet cosplay when you have friends who are good at hair.
