Also, speaking of singing and a cappella music, can we please take a moment to appreciate how consistently amazing Pentatonix is?

So, there was a request to hear me sing—and usually my voice sounds better than this, but I just ran a two-hour rehearsal! Anyway, I wrote this sort-of song a couple of days ago while I was writing TDD, and singing it as a sample, I don’t know, seemed to be a reasonable idea, except then my voice kept cracking and only got worse with each take, sigh.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it—there should be better examples of me singing after the concert. Usually I can really belt, but not tonight, and not at midnight in a dorm. Let me see if I can dig up something else.
what are your favourite videos to watch or songs to listen to you to make you feel happy? | Video: undoubtedly A Tired Fennec Fox, Scout, making cute sounds. Song: “Gang of Rhythm” by Walk Off the Earth is just so cheerful! Their a cappella “I Knew You Were Trouble” cover is also stellar. Also, this one’s pretty silly, but lipsyncing into a hairbrush to Christina Perri’s “Bang Bang Bang” is an excellent pastime. |
Ordinarily I’d keep something like this on Facebook, but you guys—the people at my school are so nuts that our “Gangnam Style” parody actually turned out pretty funny.
(I’d recommend watching the video at least for the a cappella group at 2:10 and Noam Chomsky at 3:20.)

We spoke the same language, we spent so much time
Reminiscing our history yeah we’re so alike with our
Velvet voices and our true blue eyes
Makes me want to stay when I should run and hide.We went into a trance and then we danced to a lie
Then we explored your floor, it was just a matter of time
Are you paying attention?
Did you hear what I said?
You fucked me once and it is fucking with my headYou wanted me bad when you were twenty-three
You know and the way you watched me really kind of scared me
I knew you were good then there was no problem there
But we only spoke of it with our ten mile stareIt was a professional hit
You buried me sitting up holding my head saying “holy shit”
It should have killed me instantly, I should be dead
You blew a hole the size of Texas into the side of my head
This is a good song for being angry at Victor Trevor, if you feel so inclined. I seriously wish I had room to quote all the lyrics. They’re perfect.
