The canon Holmes and Watson dynamic is different from what’s in Sherlock! During many of the adventures detailed in the Irene Adler books, Watson is married to Mary. I might just not be squinting hard enough, though, because I’m sort of more interested in the Adler and Holmes dynamic in these books. On that note, Nell develops a sort of hilarious contempt for Sherlock Holmes. You’ll see. —Also, Nell is such a sheltered narrator that I don’t think she’d notice homosexual subtext even if it were there, honestly. So, take some comfort in that. |
